Funeral services for Rosie Juanita Whitaker, 84, of Bradleyville, will be held at 11 a.m. May 11, 2007, at New Mansion General Baptist Church, in Bradleyville, with Reverend Jeff Marsh officiating. Burial will be at Patterson Cemetery, in Bradleyville. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. May 10 at Kissee-Schofield-Eakins Funeral Home Chapel, in Forsyth.
She died May 7, 2007, at her residence.
Juanita was born in Bradleyville, to Lewis and Lola (Combs) Maggard. She attended Union Flat School, in Bradleyville. She met Cletis Whitaker in Bradleyville. She was a homemaker and worked on her farm raising chickens, milking the cows and sold farm fresh eggs in Branson. She also worked as a den mother for the Fulton School of the Deaf. She was the local barber/beautician for the residents of Bradleyville. She was a member of New Mansion General Baptist Church of Bradleyville.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, Cletis Whitaker, of Bradleyville; sons, Thurman Whittaker, and wife, Kay, of Bradleyville, Dennis Whittaker, of Bradleyville, Don Whittaker, and wife, Robyn, of Bradleyville; daughter, Fay Gerdes, and husband, Robert of Bradleyville; brother, Robert Maggard, and wife, Arlena of Ava; sister, Ruth Marie Hodges, and husband, Rolla, of Bradleyville; 12 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the New Mansion General Baptist Church of Bradleyville in honor of Rosie Juanita Whitaker.
