Annie Marie Bain Buchanan, 85 of Sanford peacefully passed away Sunday February 26, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Saturday March 4, 2023, at Shallow Well Church. The family will greet friends in the parlor starting at 1pm before the service.
Mrs. Buchanan was born in Harnett Co, a daughter of the late Robert Ellis Bain Sr and Annie Canaday Bain. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years Bryant Buchanan, and brothers, Ellis Bain Jr, Eugene Bain and Earl Bain; and nephews Robert Edwin Bain and Alex Bain. She retired from GKN in 2000 after 20 years and prior to that she worked at AJ Schniersons and W. Koury Co.
Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her brother, Everette Bain of VA; nieces and nephews Pam Bain, Kenny Bain (Roxanne), Barbara Cox (Steve), Becky Reed (Scott), Ronnie Bain (Tammy), Karen Bain, Jeanne Bain Kennedy, Terry Bain, and Jill Wine (Drew); sister in laws Carolyn Bain and Kathy Bain; and her god daughter, Amy Thomas Burton (Michael) of Sanford.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece Jeannie Bain Kennedy for the exceptional care she provided to our Aunt Marie. Also, a thank you to Amedisys Hospice for their love and guidance they showed during this difficult time.
