Mr. Deverd Dean Fulbright, 88, of Brian Center in Lincolnton, formerly of N.C. 10 West, Newton, passed away Saturday, April 30, 2005, at Brian Center.
Born Jan. 29, 1917, in Catawba County, he was the son of the late Clarence Eli and Minnie Scronce Fulbright.
He was a former truck driver with Carolina Mills and was the former operator of Startown Service Center. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Startown.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Christina F. Burroughs; and four brothers, Rayford Fulbright, Enoch Fulbright, Odell Fulbright and Hubert Fulbright.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Rachel Lutz Fulbright of Brian Center in Lincolnton; two daughters, Patsy Travis of Newton and Margaret Coffey of Hickory; a son, Eddie Fulbright of Connelly Springs; a son-in-law, Randy Burroughs of Newton; two sisters, Mrs. Hilda F. Sain of Vale and Mrs. Vera Reynolds of Connelly Springs; 12 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2005, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Startown. The Revs. Chris Christopher and Weldon Sheets will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Paul Memorial Park in Startown.
