Patricia (Patsy) Sue Carroll Priest, 84, passed peacefully from this earth on Friday, February 24, 2023 while surrounded by her loving family. She was a fifth generation Floridian, born in Greensboro, Florida on April 12, 1938 to Aaron Dennis Carroll (1910-1994) and Lucille Bass Carroll (1915-1989).

As a child, she lived in Palmetto, Montverde, Lakeland, Stuart, Orlando, and Fort Pierce. She was a 1956 graduate of Wm. R. Boone High School in Orlando and was a member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Fort Pierce. She was an elementary school teacher in St. Lucie County for 26 ½ years.

She had a lifelong interest in genealogy and Florida history and was a member of the St. Lucie County Historical Society. She enjoyed her grandchildren, dancing, traveling, playing cards with her dear friends, and monthly lunches with the special group of women from the Dan McCarty High School Class of 1957.

Survivors include her sons, Jeffrey Priest (Kathy Hancock) of Atlanta, Roger Priest and Bradley Priest of Fort Pierce, and Gary Priest (Maria) of Okeechobee; brothers, Phillip Carroll (Sharon) of St. Cloud and Aaron Carroll of Live Oak; sister, Julia Carroll Holden (Carl) of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Nicole Priest Barden (Alex), Austin Priest, Andrew Priest, Ethan Priest, Rebecca Priest Griesemer (Brandon), and Nickolas Priest; three great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four nieces and two nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Lucie County Historical Society.

A visitation will take place at Haisley Funeral Home (3015 Okeechobee Road, Fort Pierce, Florida 34947) on Monday, March 6, 2023 from 10 AM to 11 AM with a service to follow at 11 AM. The burial will take place at Elzey Chapel Cemetery in Lake Butler, Florida.es
