.
Wife of Nathan Gibbs Bliss, whom she married on December 5, 1827, in Castleton, Rutland, VT, and with whom she had four known children:
Julia Ann Bliss
Mary Bliss
Nathan Gibbs Bliss, Jr.
Abbie Locke Bliss
.
This small family cemetery was copied by Margaret Jenks in 1987, who found it "deep in weeds and poison ivy" and it was virtually inaccessible when I photographed the gravestones in 2014. I found no gravestone for Lois then and have debated creating this memorial for more than eight years because I rarely create memorials for people whose burials are unknown. (I joined FAG to find graves, not to upload whole family trees without specific burial information.) Nevertheless, I feel certain that Lois must be buried here. Where else would she be? Her parents are buried here. Her husband is buried here. And at least two of her four children are buried here. Only her daughter Abbie was alive at the time of her death and for all I know Abbie may be buried here as well, as her husband was buried in a military cemetery in Virginia.
