Mrs. Eleanor Bennett Reid, 91, of 204 Beechwood Circle, died Monday, January 9, 2006, at Brian Center Nursing Care.
Mrs. Reid was born April 15, 1914, in Troup County, daughter of the late Jones Amos and Ada Lee Adamson Bennett. Mrs. Reid had lived here all of her life and was a member of LaGrange First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Verdie Miller Sunday School Class and a volunteer in the church office for thirteen years. She was a member of the Business Girls League, Thursday Luncheon Club and the A.A.R.P. Mrs. Reid retired from Belk's Department Store where she worked in the credit department for over twenty-six years.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Nancy Lee Reid of LaGrange and Betty and George Hyde of Lawrenceville; two granddaughters and a grandsonin- law, Christie Secrest of Duluth. and Julia and Wayne Owen of Frisco, Texas; five great grandchildren, Nicholas Owen, Haylee Owen, Michael Owen, Ashlynn Secrest and Josie Hyde; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Morgan H. Reid and grandson, James Reid Barrett; a sister and two brothers.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the Hunter-Allen-Myhand Chapel with the Rev. Dane Wagner officiating. Interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
