The funeral for Marion Arnall Roberts of LaGrange, a homemaker and community volunteer, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church of LaGrange, with burial in Shadowlawn Cemetery, also in LaGrange. Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home in LaGrange is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Roberts, 89, died Friday at home.

Born in Newnan, Mrs. Roberts graduated magna cum laude in 1928 from Wesleyan College in Macon, and had lived in LaGrange since 1930.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in LaGrange where she was a Sunday school teacher for 20 years and a past president of the Altar Guild and of the Women's Society of Christian Service.

"She was very involved in the Women's Society, a Methodist organization that is churchwide," said her son, Dr. Vann Roberts of Dalton. "They did a lot of mission work."

Mrs. Roberts also worked as a Red Cross volunteer.

"She was a good bridge player and was a member of the Roundtable Book Review Club which met for 50 years," her son said.

Surviving in addition to her son are her husband, J. Marion Roberts; a sister, Virginia Moody of Newnan; and two grandchildren.
