Cheryl LaVerne Aase, 78, passed away on February 20, 2023.

She was born on September 2, 1944, in Los Angeles, California, to Bernice LaVerne Salter and Benjamin Walker Kuhn, Jr.

Cheryl was raised in many places including North Dakota, Redding, California, and Brea, California, just to name a few.

She graduated from Sunny Hills High School then attended San Diego State University where she received her Bachelor's Degree in Education as well as her teaching credential. Over the years she taught all grades from 1st-12th. The subject she loved and taught for many years was English, as well as being the advisor over the school yearbook. Teaching was the love of her life.

Cheryl later decided to work on her Master's Degree in Education and was awarded that from the University of Laverne in California. After receiving her Masters and moving up to the high school level, she was promoted to the district office where she was over Instructional Services. She enjoyed that time but missed the classroom. At the time of her retirement, she was teaching 4th grade.

Cheryl also had many hobbies. Scrapbooking was her joy and something she enjoyed long into her retirement. She loved to take pictures of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and put them to life on a scrapbook page. Other hobbies included gardening and genealogy.

Family was the reason for Cheryl's existence. She was so proud of her children, Erin and Adam, and all of their posterity. Cheryl enjoyed her children and grandchildren by watching them play all kinds of sports, listening to them play music, and traveling with them.

Cheryl is survived by her daughter, Erin L. Warner (Jeff) (St. George, Utah), her son, Adam W. Aase (Marsha) (Bakersfield, California), her grandchildren, 7 boys - Dustin Warner, Zachary Warner, Michael Warner, Tyler Warner, Ryan Warner, Jake Warner, and Luke Aase, her only granddaughter, Sophia Aase, her great-grandchildren, Deja Warner, Cailee Warner, Kayden Warner, Keanu Warner, Kyla Warner, Ivoree Warner, Remi Warner, her brother John Kuhn (Norma) (California), and niece Medina Kuhn.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents Bernice L Kuhn and Benjamin Walker Kuhn, Jr., and her grandparents Bernice Bernadetta Salter, Warren LaVerne Salter, Benjamin Walker Kuhn, Sr and Gladys Mertie Cobb.

A visitation will be held prior to services on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at 12:00 pm, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Quail Valley Ward, 1762 South River Road, St. George, Utah. The funeral services will follow the visitation at 1:00 pm, at the same location.

Interment will take place immediately following the funeral at the Tonaquint Cemetery, 1851 South Dixie Dr. St George, Utah.

Our family would like to give a special thank you to The Meadows Memory Care Center as well as Dixie Home Health and Hospice.
