Graveside funeral services for James Donald Stanley, 47, of Waynesboro, were held Tuesday, March 4, 2008, from the Arrington Cemetery, with the Rev. David Parker officiating.
Born March 21, 1960, Stanley was a native of Wayne County, and worked as a floor hand. He died Saturday, March 1, 2008, at Wayne General Hospital in Waynesboro.
Survivors include his daughter, Lori Pope and her husband Brian of Buckatunna; two brothers, Pete Stanley and Jerry Stanley of Waynesboro; his sister, Frances Townsend of Waynesboro; two grandchildren, Courtney Pope and Carter Pope of Buckatunna; four nephews, Anthony Stanley, James Stanley, Steve Crawford and Brian Crawford, all of Waynesboro; and a niece, Roxanna Stanley of Waynesboro.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy J. Stanley; his father, Wendell Stanley; and his sister, Donna Jane Crawford.
Freeman Funeral Home of Waynesboro was in charge of arrangements.
