Cliff Blankenship, 66, native of Texas and a Madera resident for six years, died in his home Sunday Dec 24, 1978 of a sudden illness. He was a deacon of the First Southern Baptist Church and was president of Madera County REACT. He was a foreman for the security guards at Yancey Lumber Company. Mr. Blankenship is survived by his wife, Katie Blankenship, of Madera; four sons, Bob and Don Blankenship, both of Madera, Ron Blankenship of Kerman and Jack Blankenship of Santa Rosa; one daughter, Doris Blankenship of Madera; one brother, Delmer Blankenship of Elk Grove; three sisters, Alice Duff of Elk Grove, Edna Kimber of Woodland and Etta King of Selma; 13 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday Dec 27 in Jay Chapel. Interment will follow at Arbor Vitae Cemetery.
