Born at Mt. View on Feb. 3, 1913, she was the daughter of the late William Hayes Lester and Barbara Jane Grose Lester.
Mrs. Reed was a homemaker, and a member of the Little Bethel Church at Mt. View. She had made her home in the Cool Ridge area for over 70 years.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Fred Reed; sons, William Harold Reed and wife, Paula of Missouri, and Frederick Samuel Reed of Cool Ridge; daughters, Velma Ruth Farley and husband, Hollis of Ellison, Ella Pauline Meadows of Athens, Joyce Reed of New Mexico, Betty June Cooper and husband, Harold of Illinois, and Judy Ann Foley and husband, Jim of Procterville, Ohio; 18 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and 15 great great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rose and Quesenberry Funeral Home Shady Spring Chapel with the Rev. John Rinehart officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. View Cemetery at Mt. View.
Friends may call one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the funeral home.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
