Genealogy Information:
1843 - A Will of Jonathan Scott, mentions grandsons Melvin Dudley Lollar [Lawler] and his brother Robert Jefferson Lollar [Lawler]. In a latter revision to the Will of Jonathan Scott it was amended to include mention of two additional Lawler boys that being Dempsey A. Lollar [Lawler] and his brother Jonathan S. Lollar [Lawler].

It is now believed that Dempsey and Jonathan are actually not grandsons of Jonathan Scott. Rather these boys are the children of Robert Lawler and his wife Betsy Corbin-Lawler. Then, when their parents died the boys were taken by their uncle Arthur Gibbeon Lawler and his wife Elizabeth Scott-Lawler (dau. of Jonathan Scott).

1916 - Melvin D Lawler died April 17, 1916. He leaves behind three daughters: Mrs James Allen Woodard (Sarah M. Lawler) of La Junta, Co. Mrs. George A. Dennis (Flora Belle Lawler) of Independence KS, and Mrs. Harry D. Stewart (Effie L. Lawler) of Chanute, KS.
