Eliza was born on board the 'Gleaner' on it's way to New Zealand. It left Gravesend 29 July 1857 and arrived Port Nicholson (Petone, Wellington) 19 Nov 1857
She married George Hooper when they were 20 - he was 5 months older than her
They had 15 children from 1877 to 1901 by which time she was 44.

She died aged 58, 25 years before him.
They are buried together in Taita
