Earl Everett West was born on September 14, 1918 at Gary, South Dakota, to Harry and Ethel (Colbert) West. He attended rural schools in the Canby area. In 1932, Earl was baptized at the Antelope Hills Church of Christ. He and Esther Cornell were married on January 5, 1946 at Canby, Minnesota. In 1949, they purchased the farm in Freeland Township, Lac Qui Parle county where he resided until his death. He was a member of th Florida Lutheran Church until their merger with Our Saviours Lutheran in Canby. He served as a Trustee and Custodian at the Florida Lutheran Church. Earl loved his grandchildren formost along with all children. He enjoyed playing cards and having coffee with his many many friends.
He is survived by his wife Esther; 1 son: Larry and his wife Joyce of Madison, Minnesota; 3 daughters: Diane Malone and her husband, Jim of Currie, Minnesota; Lori Jerzak and her husband Jack of Minneota, Minnesota, and Nancy of Hopkins, Minnesota. 6 Grandchildren: Jackie, Connie and Lonnie West; Hannah and Leah Malone; and Shalayna Jerzak. Also 1 sister Mrs. Lucille Lundquist of Canby, Mn and 2 brothers: Glenn of Canby, Mn and Russell of Mesa, Arizona. Earl was preceded in death by his parents and 1 son David Allen. Blessed be his memory.
