Gloria Marie Woodward, 67, passed away on Thursday, February 16, 2023 at her long-time residence in Harrington, Maine. She was born September 24, 1955 in Jonesport, Maine to the late Joyce Ramsdell Woodward and Homer Woodward Sr.

She lived and worked in Maine for most of her adult life where she was a dedicated employee of Downeast Community Hospital as the Central Services Coordinator for over 40 years. She was a graduate of Framingham State College in Framingham, Massachusetts where she also spent most of her childhood, and as a young adult worked as a licensed real estate broker. Gloria was a loving and caring person who was always the first to help someone in need. She deeply loved all of her family, friends, and pets.

She is survived by her siblings: Homer Woodward Jr and wife Deborah of Cherryfield, ME, Brenda and husband Brian Kelly of Hopkinton, MA, and Evans Woodward of Hopkinton, MA; many loving nieces and nephews; three aunts: Lillian Shaw of Harrington, ME who was much like a second mother, Gloria Flaherty of Addison, ME, and Marion Plummer and husband Michael of Harrington, ME; an uncle, Everett Ramsdell of Harrington, ME, and many special cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sister-in-law Carle Woodward; aunts and uncles: Marjorie Ramsdell, Violet Lemay and Rosemarie Palmer, Raymond Shaw, Stanley Flaherty, Andrew Ramsdell Jr, John Lemay, Cliff and Marie Parker, Lurlene and Charlie Morris, Thelma and Johnny MacLean, Nadine and Virgil Crowley, Lucille and Benny Backman, Guy and Ruth Woodward, Keith and Georgie Crowley, and Evans and Helen Woodward.

The family would like to express our deepest gratitude to the Hospice staff at Community Health and Counseling Services for all the loving care and support.

A celebration of life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, March 11 at Wreaths Across America in Columbia Falls, ME.

In lieu of flowers her wishes were that donations be made to Downeast Community Hospital, 11 Hospital Drive, Machias, ME 04654 Att: Julie Hixon, to be used for the surgical unit.
