Carolyn Lucas Hall was born November 22, 1932 in Waxahachie, Texas, to Louis G. Lucas of Athens, Greece, and Fairy Anderson Lucas of Charleston, Texas and died May 20, 2004 in Fredericksburg, TX, after a year-long battle with cancer. Carolyn graduated from North Texas State University and worked as a medical technologist in St. Thomas, USVI, and the Dallas-area until retiring in 1979 and moving to Ruidoso, NM. She relocated to Fredericksburg in 1992. A lifelong Episcopalian, Carolyn married the love of her life, the Rev. Richard S. Hall of Dallas, on August 7, 1954 at Waxahachie, Texas. Together, they raised three daughters, built four homes, traveled extensively throughout the US, Mexico and Europe, and dedicated their lives to one another, their family and their church. Carolyn was an avid reader, gardener, world traveler, gourmet cook and mah jong player. She served on altar guild and coordinated community outreach through St. Barnabas' Bargain Barn. She spent her life bringing beauty and grace to the people and places she loved. She is survived by husband Richard Hall of Fredericksburg; and three daughters Anna, Ellen and Sandy. Also three grandsons Clay, Collin and Denton, and many close friends in Fredericksburg, Ruidoso and Dallas. A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 29, at 2 p.m. at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Fredericksburg.
