Freida Burmeister Myers, 102, of Jacksonville passed away on Monday February 18, 2008 at Barton W. Stone Home. She was born on January 12, 1906 in Murrayville, IL. the daughter of Charles Henry and Golda Sheppard Lewis. She married Lloyd Burmeister on April 6, 1938 in Jacksonville, IL. He preceded her in death in December of 1966.
Mrs. Myers was the owner of Burmeister Grocery in Jacksonville for many years, a member of The Womens Club in Jacksonville, the American Legion Auxiliary, Bunko Club, Central Christian Church since 1928, and she enjoyed card parties, dancing, traveling, and spending time with her family.
Freida is survived by one sister Mary Ethel Frost of Winchester, one nephew Gary Frost (companion Brenda Pond) of Meredosia, one neice Sherry (husband Lawrence) Coultas of Winchester, and several great nieces and nephews.
Services were entrusted to Williamson Funeral Home of Jacksonville, Illinois.
