Ran away from home in 1840`s and came to Texas, settling in Williamson Co. After marrying, he and his wife moved to Arkansas settling in either Hempstead or Howard Co. Enlisted in the Civil War in 1862 with Company A, 13th Arkansas Infantry in Mineral Springs. Was discharged in Mansfield, Louisiana. Moved back to Texas in 1865, settling in Hunt Co., then moved to Bosque Co. in Meridian in 1877. After his wife`s death in 1910, he moved in with his daughter Mary Herd in Waco. His surname had many variations in spelling to include Jamerson, Jimmerson, Jameson, etc., but the correct spelling is believed to be Jamison.
