Dancer, Singer, Actor, Choreographer. Acted in television, film, and stage. Mainly known as a stage performer. His career spanned six decades. Starred in the national stage tour of "No, No Nannette" in the role of "Billy." Awarded The Drama Critics Award in 1972 for that role. Honored with the Gypsy Robe by the Professional Dancer's Society in 2007. He began his career at age eight dancing and singing in vaudeville shows at the Palomar Theater in Seattle, Washington, where his father, Irvin Antes, accompanied him at the piano. At 14, he and his family, moved to "Hollywood." Worked as a chorus dancer in many musical films in the 1940s to 1960s including "Babes on Swing Street" (1944) and Chip Off the Old Block (1944), dancing with The Jivin' Jacks and Jills. He appeared in Hitchcock's "Rear Window" (1954) with "Miss Torso," a featured dancer in "The Opposite Sex" (1956) alongside Joan Collins and in the opening credits of "Under the Yum Yum Tree" (1963). Served in the Navy during World War II. Assigned as Specialized Entertainment, performing in musicals on base in Hawaii. He was under contract with Columbia Studios and Desilu Productions. Appeared on many TV shows and commercials as a dancer and actor in the 1950s to 1960s including "Celebrity Playhouse," "The Westinghouse Desilu Playhouse: Desilu Revue," "Damon Runyon Theater," "Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts," "The Debbie Reynolds Show," "The Judy Garland Show," "The Danny Kaye Show," "Dinah Shore Show," "Alan Young Show" and "The Rosemary Clooney Show" at times dancing with the Tony Charmoli Dancers. He married in 1957 and divorced in 1972. He had three children. On stage and in nightclub acts, he toured with Betty Hutton, Anne-Marie Alberghetti and Debbie Reynolds. In Las Vegas, he starred in "The Ziegfeld Follies" at the Thunderbird Hotel and "Vive Les Girls" at the Dunes Hotel. In Los Angeles, he performed at various nightclubs including the "Ye Little Club." He made two record albums under the label Dot Records, "Paris Smiles" and "Jerry Antes Sings, Sings & Sings." He was the Choreographer on many commercials and the film "The Lawless Street" (1955) with Angela Lansbury. He performed in "The Palm Springs Follies" for 11 years. He was featured in the 1997 documentary "Still Kicking: The Fabulous Palm Springs Follies."
