Mrs. Brooks, born Aug. 6, 1912, in Randolph County, was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Ellen Knight Fetner. She had lived in LaGrange since 1925, retired from the Elm City Plant of Milliken & Co. after 35 years. She had been a member of Southwest LaGrange Baptist Church since 1928.
Survivors include a daughter, Marcelene May of Duluth, Ga.; a son, Jarrell Reed Brooks of Buford, Ga.; six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services were at 4 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 12, in Shadowlawn Cemetery with the Rev. Paul Ott officiating.
Arrangements were by Hunter-Allen-Myhand Funeral Home, LaGrange.
