John Edwin Mobley was born to Wallace Orion Mobley and Bessie Lee Watts on November 5,1922 in Louisville,Jefferson County,Kentucky. He was in the US Navy during World War II. John married Helen Faye McDonald on May 1,1944. He was the proud father of four children and had two grandchildren. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Louisville, where he proudly sang in the choir and with a quartet group. He was a deacon in the church. Daddy was very dedicated to JESUS CHRIST, his family and he loved his grandchildren. He was loved by those who knew him. My father did not know a stranger, as he was a fun, loving man with a wonderful sense of humor. He was the pitcher for the Grace Baptist Softball Team and was called "Papa John" by his team mates. His grandchildren called him "Pappy". He passed away on Memorial Day, May 27,1974. He now sings in the HEAVENLY CHOIR where he resides there with our mother.
"Pappy" now has six grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.
