She was born to Henry and Gertrude (Eilerman) DeLoye. On May 8, 1946, she married Norbert Heckman, who survives.

Also surviving are five sons, John (Maruja), Clifton, VA, James Robert (Adele), Portland, IN, Joseph (Joyce), Monroe, NJ, William (Mary Beth), Yorkshire, and David (Karen), Minster; six daughters, Martha (Jerome) Barhorst and Margie (Don) Eilerman, all Fort Loramie, Rita (Stephen) Monnin, Botkins, Ann (Mike) Krietzer, Arcanum, and Mary (Jerry) Siegrist and Kathleen (John) Geise, all Sidney; two brothers, Raymond (Mary Ann), Houston, and Robert (Rosalee), Yorkshire; 34 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Deceased are a daughter, Alice; a brother, Paul DeLoye; and two grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Osgood, and its St. Barbara Ladies Sodality, the Darke County Board of Elections and Right to Life, and a former member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Auxiliary, Minster.

Funeral Mass is at the church, the Rev. David Zink officiating.
