Susan Jordan Pilgreen devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully June 29, 2022. Susan was born at Lee County Hospital on February 4, 1939, to the late Evelyn Walker Jordan and James Ralph Jordan, Sr.

...

She was a life-long learner as a student of nature, the human condition and great literature. Her passions for the natural world around us were easily taught and remembered by her family. She graduated from Auburn High School and earned a B.S. degree from Auburn University in Psychology. After graduation, she moved many times raising her children and teaching cooking classes to young mothers along the way. This uniquely prepared her for a career start at Forty Carrots, a gourmet cookware shop in Memphis, TN. Later, she transitioned into a career with Varsity Brands Inc. Susan retired and relocated back to her hometown of Auburn, AL to be close to family and friends. She enjoyed memberships in Delta Delta Delta Women's Fraternity and Daughters of the American Revolution, Osher Lifelong Learning at Auburn University, and enjoyed the many amenities offered in a university town.

A memorial service will be held Friday, July 8th ,2022, at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at 10:00 a.m. for visitation at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Museum of Natural History (AUMNH) at Auburn University, Mobile Outreach Museum that highlights conservation work and outreach activities in memory of Susan Jordan Pilgreen.
