Louise Maxine Phipps, 59, of Engelhard, passed away peacefully at home, on Wednesday, June 2, 1999, following a long illness.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 1999, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service Chapel. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens, Greensboro.

She was born on Dec. 7, 1939, in Martinsville, Va. She was the daughter of Walter and Nellie Turner of Greensboro.

She was a former employee of East Carolina Bank of Engelhard. Up until her illness, she had been a volunteer "Emergency Medical Technician-Intermediate", for the past 12 years.

She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Phipps of the home; her daughter, Angela Walsh and husband, Thomas; and two grandchildren, Anthony and Sara, all of Alamogordo, NM; her son, Kenny Phipps of Greensboro; her sisters, Margaret Case of Summerfield, Rhonda Price of Stokesdale, Karen Combs of Kernersville, Nellie Jo Mitchell of Browns Summit, Lois Wilson of New Market, Va., and Tammy Miller of Summerfield; her brothers, Charles Turner of Madison, and Tim Turner of Summerfield; one aunt,Nancy Hill of Greensboro; two uncles, Calvin Reeves of Orlando, Fla., and Julian Reeves of Axton, Va.; and many devoted friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Nellie Turner of Greensboro; her brother, Sonny Turner of Stokesdale; and grandson, Bryan Waite.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 1999, at Lambeth-Troxler Funeral Service, 300 W. Wendover Avenue, Greensboro. And at the home of her sister, Margaret Case, 7919 Highfill Road, Summerfield, at other times.
