OBITUARY for Jerri-Anne Abshire
November 21, 1946 - February 6, 2022
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, at 1:00 pm in La Chapelle de Martin & Castille, for Jerri - Anne Abshire, 75, who passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center.
Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
Elder Tony Bailey, of One Church in Lafayette, will conduct the funeral services.
Survivors include her children, Melissa A. Wiltz and her husband, Donnie, and Brandon Abshire; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Ashley, Austin, Ryker, Brianna, Blaise, Dawson, and Dayton; one great grandchild, Kai Marie; a daughter-in-law, Stephanie Abshire; a brother-in-law, Chuck Oswalt;
She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard Harold Hiemstra and Roberta Gene Parrish Hiemstra; two sisters, Rosalie Cornes and her husband, Stan, and Linda Oswalt.
Jerri-Anne Abshire graduated from Portage High School on June 10, 1964. She worked for Voorhies and Labbe as a legal secretary for Lee Leonard for many years. Her hobbies included watching football, playing cards, crossword puzzles, playing yahtzee with her grandchildren and spending time with family. She will be dearly missed by all.
Pallbearers will be Ryker Malhorin, Tyler Abshire, Austin Theriot, Blaise Wiltz, Dawson Wiltz, and Dylan Gary.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Brandon Abshire and Donnie Wiltz.
The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN location on Wednesday, February 9, 2022, from 10:00 am until time of services.
