Mildred Ann Winkler Clore passed away on February 15, 2023.Born on June 10, 1937 in Louisville, Kentucky.

Mildred was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and was beloved by all who knew her. Mildred was married to her teenage sweetheart George Clore for 67 years. They were devoted to one another with Mildred passing away only two months after George. She and George worked as a team to build Clore Electric, but life was not all work for this couple. In their younger years, they enjoyed dancing the polka at Swiss Hall on Saturday nights. They added hot air ballooning to their adventures, with George piloting the balloon and Millie heading up the ground crew. Throughout their life together, George and Mildred also greatly enjoyed travel with family and friends.

Mildred was active in the community. She was a member of the Fillies for over 40 years and enjoyed working on Derby Pin sales every spring. However, first and foremost, Mildred was devoted to her family. She was a dedicated mother who loved her daughters, Robin and Donna. They always knew she was only a phone call away to help or share in the fun as they were raising their children. Mildred taught them by example to treasure their children as she treasured them. Mildred's grandchildren and great grandchildren were her ultimate pride and joy. Known as Mamaw to the grandchildren, Millie loved to hear about their lives and adventures, and they always knew she would be there for them at a moment's notice.

Mildred faced a difficult illness for many years. Though her health was failing, her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through. She did not lose that spark and enthusiasm for life.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, George; her parents Henry Winkler and Lorena Kaelin Winkler; and sister, Mary Catherine Winkler Stuedle.

Mildred is survived by her daughters, Robin Hancock (Thomas) and Donna Brehl Berryman (Robert); grandchildren Emily Veeneman (Brian), Austin Roberts, Kaitlin Upton (William), Phillip Brehl (Ashley), Michael Brehl (Nikki) and George Brehl. She is also survived by her great grandchildren, Leyton, Henry, Georgia, Celia, Niko, Lelia, and baby girl Brehl arriving in 2023.

Guests are invited to attend a visitation February 20, 2023 from 4-7pm. A funeral mass will be held 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, 501 Cherrywood Rd, Louisville, KY 40207, with interment to follow at Floydsburg Cemetary, 5600 Old Floydsburg Road, Crestwood, KY
