According to her marriage records in 1889, she was the daughter of John E. Clasenn and Mary Leuche.

According to the 1870 Census records her parents were Henry August Clausen and Mary Kobel.

Note: I guess that we will never know which is correct. Anyone that knew weren't talking, and they are all now deceased.
