Mary B. (Matchett) Long, age 84, of Pensacola, died Wednesday, February 27, 2008 at her home. Mary lived most of her life in Escambia County but was born in Waycross, GA. Mary was the middle child of three of Richard Marvin and Lila Matchett. Mary attended Tate High School. She worked at St. Regis for several years where she met her husband, William Robert Long. Mary enjoyed cooking large meals for her family. She also enjoyed traveling. Recently, Mary's favorite pastime was going to the casinos and playing bingo. Most of all, Mary was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband, William Robert Long; her daughter, Vivian Long; and her sister, Naomi Alderman. She is survived by a son, William R. Long Jr., (Angie) of Pensacola; daughters, Sherhea Plunkett-Morrow (Mark) of Houston, TX, Carolyn Dzombar (Kevin) of Gulf Breeze and Bobbie Jo Burns (Bo) of Niceville; sister, Lee Marvin Jernigan of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
