Lenora Webb, 81, a resident of Barstow for 41 years, passed away at her home on Sunday, Sept. 3, 2006, after a short illness. Born Jan. 11, 1925, in Brawley to William and Myrtle (Browder) Ford, the only girl to six boys. Her childhood years were spent in Calipatria, where she eventually met and married James W. Webb on Dec. 26, 1946, in San Diego, where they resided until 1965 when they moved to Barstow. Lenora was a dedicated homemaker, wife and mother, not only to her own children but to all of her extended family as well. She took great delight in sharing her love and home with all who entered. She also enjoyed spending time in her garden with her flowers and tomato plants. Her thoughtfulness, cheerful smile and zest for life will be remembered by all who knew her. Lenora was predeceased by her husband, James W.; son, Dennis; parents, William and Myrtle; and brothers, Albert, Pat, Gene, Denny and Raymond. Lenora is survived by her daughter, Diana Martin of Barstow; son, G. Weldon Webb of Los Angeles; granddaughters, Mindy Haviland and her husband of Riverside, and Michelle Martin of Alesio Viejo; great-grandchildren, Cambrie Haviland of Riverside, and Tyler Willard of Alisio Viejo; brother, Charles Ford and his wife, Helen, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to the Mojave Valley Volunteer Hospice and the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties for their never ending thoughtfulness, compassion gentle care and support during this difficult time for our family. Visitation will be Monday, Sept. 11 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Mead Mortuary, 36930 Irwin Road. Services will be Tuesday, Sept. 12 at noon, also at Mead Mortuary. Burial will follow at Mt. View Memorial Park, 37067 Irwin Road. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Mojave Valley Volunteer Hospice, 516 E. Williams St., Barstow, CA 92311, or the Visiting Nurse Association of the Inland Counties, 222 E. Main St., Barstow, CA 92311.
