David Lee Weems, age 82, passed on Monday, August 15, 2022, at Rush Hospital in Meridian, MS. A Memorial visitation will be held from 1:00 PM until 1:50 PM on Thursday, August 18, 2022, at Wolf Funeral Services in Lake, MS. Services will take place at 2:00 PM in our chapel. Bro. Mike Weems will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
David was born to William Marion Weems and Elsie Joyner Weems on October 4, 1939, in Sun, MS. He lived the majority of his life in MS. David loved to laugh and he enjoyed working. He had a cb handle "Mississippi Log Hauler". His nickname was Bunk. He loved horses and enjoyed reading, especially westerns.
He is preceded in death by his first wife Carolyn Virginia Weems; parents William Marion Weems and Elsie Joyner Weems; brothers, Donald Weems, Jimmy Weems and Harry Weems and sister, Lilla W. Small. David is survived by his wife, Wanda Weems of Lake, MS; two daughters Linda Murray (Jeff) of Lawrence, MS and Lisa Taylor (Mike) of Lawrence, MS; granddaughters raised as a daughters Dani Crosby (Bryant) of Lake, MS and Emily Fortenberry (Austin) of Raleigh, MS; two sisters, Sandra Knight of Sweet Home, OR, Mary Ene Vance of Lake, MS; two brothers, Joyner Weems of Sugar Creek, AL and Brock Weems of Saltillo, MS; seventeen grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
