The Bulloch County native was a retired truck driver for Certainteed Roofing and was a Methodist. He had served in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Godbee Edwards.
Survivors: sisters, Virginia Buxton of Sardis and Martha S. Barber of Eutawville, SC; brother, William A. Edwards of Ellabelle; step-son, Jimmy Lamar Lewis of Sylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2003 at Buck Creek Cemetery near Sylvania.
