Boonie Coffey was born on February 11, 1877 in Oglesby, Coryell County, Texas to Michael Smith Coffey and Nancy Anastasia Kerby-Coffey.

Boonie Coffey was a great-great-great-grandniece of the pioneer Daniel Boone. Boonie's great-great-great-grandfather was Israel Boone, Daniel Boone's older brother.

Boonie Coffey married Edward Leslie Bridges on November 1, 1905 in Bandera, Bandera County, Texas. Boonie and Edward was married by a traveling Baptist Minister by the name of J. W. Storms. Just 19 years later, that very same traveling Baptist Minister would married their first born daughter Vera Violet Bridges to Mark Anthony Chism.

Boone and Edward were blessed with 7 children. Their second child was still born on October 20, 1908, and is buried next to her. All of their children were born in Tarpley, Bandera County, Texas except their daughter Ethel Marie, who was born at Vanderpool, Bandera County, Texas.

Boonie Coffey-Bridges died on May 4, 1927 in Tarpley, Bandera County, Texas from breast cancer at just 50 years, 2 months, and 23 days of age. Boonie lived just long enough to see her very first grandchild be born. (That grandchild was my mother).

Boonie Coffey Bridges and her husband Edward Leslie Bridges were a very popular couple in the little town of Tarpley, Texas. They were known to have gatherings that people would come from far away to be part of. Their nephew Jacob Elzie Dean said "They could throw a really good party".
