L. Beverly Stein, daughter of the late Earl and Kathryn (Hess) Schwartz, was born in Pleasureville, Springettsbury Township, York County, Pennsylvania, on January 20, 1936. She departed this life at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri, on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 11:15PM (CST) at the age of 87 years, 22 days. She Graduated class of 1953 at Kreutz Creek Valley High School, Hallam, PA;

On June 23, 1956, in Freysville, Pennsylvania, Beverly was united in marriage to Bruce O. Stein and to this union three children were born. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Kathie Stein; brothers, Marlin Schwartz, Timothy Schwartz, Mark Schwartz, Glenn Schwartz; and granddaughters Audriana and Holly Bair. Her brother Sam Schwartz passed away on February 14th.

Beverly is survived by a son, Ronald Stein and wife Vicki of Winona, Missouri, a daughter, Barbara Bair and husband Robert of Wrightsville, Pennsylvania, four grandchildren, Lori Douts and husband Brad, Benjamin Stein, Andrew Stein and wife Megan, and Jarrod Bair and wife Brittany, and eight great-grandchildren. She is survived by brothers Doug Schwartz, Tennessee; Luther Schwartz, Manheim; and a sister Susan Rice, Harrisburg.

She was an active farm wife in Freysville, PA; and served as a private duty personal care assistant. Beverly was a member of the Emmanuel United Church of Christ, served as a Lady Assistant Steward of the Red Lion Grange No. 1781 and was a member of the Farm Women Society and the Green Thumb Garden Club. She later moved with family to Winona, Missouri where she enjoyed plants and flowers, gardening, actively enjoyed church, Bible study, family time and crocheting. Beverly will be missed by a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

The family expresses special thanks to Beverly's nephew Dwight Schwartz who is officiating at her memorial service. Memorial contributions may be made to Freysville Emmanuel UCC Church, 1625 Windsor Rd., Red Lion, PA 17356 Interment Freysville Cemetery, Red Lion, Pennsylvania.
