Dolores Impinna Harpham

Carmichael, California - Dolores completed her life journey peacefully on January 25, 2023. She was born in Oakland, California on March 3, 1923, and was the loving daughter of Clara and Fred Hughes. Early in life she discovered her passion for dance and music which charted the course for the rest of her life. By age 16 she was dancing professionally and had opened her own dance studio.
During World War 2 she performed in clubs between Marysville and San Francisco and met her husband, Frank Impinna, a noted musician and performer. Together they opened the Frank N Dolores Music and Dance Studio in Carmichael. Over the next almost 45 years they enriched the lives of countless children and adults with music and dance. Even though Dolores had no children of her own, she was a mentor and nurturer to so many. For most of the years the studio was open, Frank and Dolores staged a yearly show with all proceeds going to the . Additionally, they continued to perform together, Frank on the accordion and Dolores on drums in the Sacramento area and Clear Lake, California. A few years after Frank's passing in 1996, Dolores closed the studio and retired.
In 2009 she married Buddy Harpham, another musician. She often joked that she promised herself that she would never marry a musician but ended up marrying two! Buddy and Dolores enjoyed life thoroughly until Buddy's passing in 2016.
Dolores was a devoted daughter and wonderful wife. She was a beautiful, gracious lady who shared her talents generously to the betterment of all who crossed her path. She is survived by a few loving relatives, several close friends, and many grateful students.
