'Allen' Ready as he was affectionately known, was born in the area of Mt. Zion, Wayne County, Mississippi to parents, Homer & Murtie May Ready. He attended school in Buckatunna where he was a member of the football team. In the early 1950's, at the end of his scholastic years, he entered the United States military service.
He was survived by his current wife Paula, and his children by his first marriage, William, Marilynn, Tinka, Lisa and Shirley, and preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Donna, and his siblings Mary Lee Ready West, Lou Emma Ready West, & Homer William Ready.
