Homer "Leon" Walker, son of the late Joseph Lee Walker and Mildred Pauline (Shepherd) Walker was born on March 5, 1944 in Ellsinore, Missouri and departed this life on February 9, 2023 in Jackson, Missouri. He had attained the age of seventy-eight years, eleven months and four days.
Leon had resided in Jackson for the past three months and was formerly of Ellsinore. He was of the Pentecostal faith and was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Ellsinore, Missouri. He enjoyed working, being outdoors, hunting, fishing, and running a boat on Current River and on Clearwater Lake. Leon was strong-willed, generous, loved life, and had a strong faith in the Lord.
On August 19, 1961, he was united in marriage to Shirley Ann Cole in Crown Point, Indiana.
Leon is survived by his wife Shirley Walker of Jackson, MO; his daughter, Cheryl Burlbaugh (Robert) of Oak Ridge, MO; his son, Darreyl Walker (Donna) of Victoria, MN; sister, Dora Lee Stratton of Ellsinore, MO; five grandchildren Abby Letner, Mandy Hatfield (Darrell), Jodie Pennington (Matt), Wanda Reynolds and Joseph Lee Walker (Rebecca); ten great-grandchildren and many realtives and friends who mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Homer was preceded in death by three sisters, Leona Brown, Carol McGarrity and Eva Kay Prater.
Burial will be in the Whites Mill Cemetery in Ellsinore, MO.
