Funeral Service Held Today For Mrs. John Gibbs
Funeral services were held this afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Maudie Minnie Gibbs, who passed away at a local hospital Thursday after a long illness.
The services were held from the residence of her brother, Mr. and Mrs. Artie Hearn, 1207 West 26th street,with Rev. V. B. Breazeale, pastor of the College Avenue Baptist church, officiating. Internment was made at Old Tryon cemetery in the northern part of the county, where other members of the family sleep. McCulloch-Dansby was in charge of funeral arrangements.
Mrs. Maudie Minnie Gibbs was 35 years, 8 months and 14 days of age, and had lived in Brazos and adjoining counties all her life. Many friends mourn today with the bereaved, in the departure of this woman in the prime of life.
She is survived by her husband, John D. Gibbs, and one son, J. D. Jr., and four sisters and four brothers; Miss Nettie Hearn, Mrs. Sam Bass, Mrs. George Bell and Mrs. Harold Shealey, all of Bryan; Richard Hearn of North Zulch; and Leonard, Bryan, and Artie Hearn, all of Bryan.
