Doris Jane Webb Brown, 85, passed away peacefully 23 July 2004 at the Discovery Care Center in Salmon, Idaho. She was born 26 February 1919 in Firth, Idaho, the oldest of six children born to Alma and Coral Kelsey Webb. Doris' father was a farmer and during her childhood they lived on farms in Shelley, Pingree, Roberts and North Fork. Doris attended schools in Shelley, Pingree and Salmon and graduated with honors in 1937 from Salmon High School. She married Scott Brown 28 May 1938 in Blackfoot, Idaho. Their marriage was solemnized 31 May 1980 in the Idaho Falls Temple. She was the mother of three children; Coral, Bill and Eve. Doris was always active in community projects and was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving as primary president, young women's president, Sunday school teacher, and Stake Girls Camp Director. She also served in the Family History Center helping others and also compiled several thick books of her own genealogy. She was employed a Stevens Durg and Rigby Pharmacy for more than 25 years. Doris was Scott's constant companion, hunting, fishing, horseback riding and arrow head hunting. She loved to garden and took pride in her flowers and the produce from her garden, winning many blue ribbons at the Lemhi County Fair. She spent her entire married life in Salmon, with the exception of two years they spent in Pocatello when Scott was employed by the Idaho Power Company. She is survived by her husband, Scott; children Coral(Bob)Petersen of Missoula, Montana, Bill(Pauline)Brown of Weiser, Idaho and Eve(Jay)Cole of Rigby, Idaho; 11 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen McBride Morgan and Dona Hall of Pingree; sisters-in-law, Marge Webb of Sterling. LaRee Webb of Blackfoot; stepbrother, Von Jolley of Sterling and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; one sister and stepmother and stepbrother. Funeral services were 28 July 2004 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Highway 28 with Bishop Boyd Stokes conducting. Burial was in the Salmon Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Salmon River Funeral Chapel.
