Edward William Andrew Sr., 75, of Taneytown died Wednesday morning, Feb. 27, 2008, at Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster. Born April 18, 1932, in Ringgold, he was the son of the late Clarence and Edith Alexander Andrew. He was the husband of Carrie Marcella Snyder Andrew, his wife of 52 years. He was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a retired burial vault manufacturer and installer with the Babylon Vault Co. in New Windsor. He worked for 20 years with the Cambridge Rubber Plant in Taneytown as a manufacturer. He was a member of the Hesson-Snyder Post No. 120 American Legion in Taneytown and the FOE Eagles in Littlestown, Pa. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are children and spouses Edward William Jr. and Yvette Andrew, Carol Lookingbill and devoted friend Sonny Dayhoff, Susan Andrew and devoted friend Richard Creager, Gene and Amy Andrew, and John and Pamela Andrew, all of Taneytown, and Victoria and Marty Lookingbill of Keymar; siblings Betty Stambaugh, Ruth Shane, Anna Hughes, Belinda Fogle, George, Donald, Gene, and Paul Andrew, all of Thurmont, Harriet Burman, Barbara Wantz, May McNair, Sam and James Andrew, all of Emmitsburg, Rose Eyler and Frank Andrew, both of Rocky Ridge, and Mary Brown of Cascade; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by granddaughters Brandy and Dessie Lookingbill; and by a brother, Martin "Dick" Andrew. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Myers-Durboraw Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, with Deacon Charles E. Barnhart Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Taneytown. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. (Carroll Co Times - 2/28/2008)
