ROBERT HOVERMALE OBITUARY
March 9, 1927 - Dec. 23, 2011
MISHAWAKA - Robert L. Hovermale, 84, of Mishawaka, passed away at 5:30 am Friday, December 23, 2011, in his home. Robert was born on March 9, 1927, in Russellville, IN, the son of the late Kiah C. and Edith E. (Smiley) Hovermale. On June 30, 1990, he married Phyllis Croop Hovermale. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis; daughter, Diana Dilworth of Greenwood, IN; stepdaughter, Sandra (Jerry) White of Mishawaka; and brother, Ralph Hovermale of Sulfur Spring, IN. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Jerry Hovermale, and a sister, Edna Mendenhall. Robert proudly served his country during WW II in the U.S. Navy before being honorably discharged in 1946. He retired from Circle B Construction after 50 years of service. He will be missed by all, including his good friend Ron Hixenbaugh and many other good friends where he tended bar at the Rainbow Inn and friends of Hobbies Watering Hole. He was a wonderful father and husband. Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 pm, Wednesday, December 28, 2011, in Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Burial will take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery, Greenwood, IN.
