Rilla Cobb Houk, 68, of Bennett Rd., Morganton, NC died Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Grace Hospital following a period of declining health.
She was born January 18, 1940 in Madison Co., AL, and was a daughter of the late Jewel Cobb and Lena Mae Neal Cobb.
Rilla was of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed canning and working in the garden. She was a loving wife and mother.
Rilla is survived by her husband, William Houk, Jr. of the home; sons, Robert Houk and wife, Kathleen, and James Houk, all of Morganton, and David Houk and wife, Susie of Nebo, NC; a daughter, Doris Chancy and husband, James Robert of Lubbock, Texas; a brother, J. W. Cobb of New Hope, Alabama; sisters, Marilyn Thorpe of Newbern, TN, Jewel Fox of Boise, Idaho, Doris Patton of Atlanta, GA, and Kathy C. Denham of Owens, Crossroads, AL; a special great grandson, Justin Clark of the home; and specials friends, Freida and Bobby Yates of Morganton, and Terry Minton of Gamewell, NC; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Baptist Church Cemetery.
