Roby - Services for Mrs. Sam Bryant, 86, of Roby, who died Tuesday, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Weathersbee Funeral Home in Rotan. The Rev. Charles Whitlock, pastor of First Baptist Church in Roby, will officiate. Burial will be in Roby Cemetery.
Mrs. Bryant died at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Golden Haven Nursing Home in Roby following a long illness.
Born Doshie Knight on January 23, 1887 in Tyler County, she married Sam Bryant on Nov. 7, 1907 in Tyler County. They moved to Fisher County in 1925. Mr. Bryant died Feb. 22, 1957.
Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Aub (Grace) Hamric of Roby, Mrs. O. C. (Sallie Mae) Wilbern of Mesa, Ariz., and Mrs. Ralph (Fannie Belle) Dixon of Kyle; one son, John M. of Amarillo; two brothers, Barney Knight of Rotan and Wesley Knight of Woodville; one sister, Mrs. Carrie Cruse of Colmesneil; seven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
