John Joseph Admonius, age 79, of Alliance, passed away peacefully at Community Care Center on Friday January 15th, 2021. He was born on April 6th, 1941 in Alliance to John E. and Elizabeth (Sarchione) Admonius.

John was a graduate of Alliance High School Class of 1960. He then went on to attend the University of Illinois on a scholarship. John graduated from Youngstown University in 1965 with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and was also a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and Alpha Mu Business Fraternity. He then went on to receive his Masters in Education from Youngstown State University in 1970.

John's professional career started at Marlington High School in the business department in 1966. He then became a guidance counselor at Minerva High School from 1970-1979. John went on to be the principal at Regina Coeli School from 1988-1994. He returned to Minerva in 1994 as the assistant principal at Minerva High School until his retirement in 2010. John was also the co-owner/operator of Grinders in Louisville from 1980-2004.

John was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharist minister. He also served on the Board of Trustees of the Stark Federal Credit Union as the Secretary for several years. John loved the Cleveland Browns and was a season ticket holder for many years.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Marlene (Cercone) Admonius whom he married on June 28th, 1969; siblings, Mary Jane (Leonard) Klinkoski, Albert (Terry) Admonius, Joseph Admonius and Debra (Jeff) Booth; sisters-in-law, Marie (Jack) Hemer and Alisa Schell; nephews, Robert D'Atri and Eric Schell; niece, Megan Jimenez; and great nephews, Felix Jimenez and Ethan Schell; great niece, Stella Jimenez; family friends, Heather, Christon, Claire and Caroline Gerber. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Eugene Admonius; grandparents, Dominic and Ludwiga Admonius and Joseph and Fanny Sarchione.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, January 23rd at 11 a.m. at Regina Coeli Catholic Church with Fr. Joseph Ruggieri as Celebrant. Visitation will held on Friday, January 22nd from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. at Cassaday-Turkle-Christian Funeral Home.
