Daughter of William Alfred and Clara E. Chapman Jacobs, Annie was the youngest of six children. Raised in Ariton, Alabama, She was originally named Baby Girl Jacobs. The name Annie Lou came later.

Annie married James Marcell Gaddy on April 12, 1943, at the age of 14, and moved to the DeValls Bluff/Hazen/Stuttgart area of Arkansas to be with his family. The Gaddy's had 2 children while in Arkansas, Lavonda Ann and Janella Koren. They settled in Columbus, Georgia, some time in the mid-1950's.

Annie was originally a homemaker, but took a job at Sunshine Biscuits after moving to Columbus. She worked for Sunshine Biscuits for more than 25 years before retiring in mid-1980's. She was a member of the Confectioner's and Bakers Union Local. Family will comment on how she used to come home smelling like a Cheez-It or a Hydrox Cookie.

Annie Lou was a member of Trinity Temple Assembly of God and was a devoted christian. She served the Lord all her life and I am sure she is with Him now.

Annie Lou went to serve the Lord with the Angels on February 25, 2008, at her home surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Annie was laid to rest On February 28, 2008.

Annie was a loving and devoted wife to her "Jimmy" for 65 years, an exceptional mother who taught her children to love and live without fear and with passion, a Mom Mom whose grandchildren could do no wrong, and a great-grandmother who saw blessings in everything.
