Danzy (Bilbrey) Baldwin was the fifth child (all girls) of Alastus and Clarsie (Brown) Bilbrey.

Danzy's mother died a month after she was born.

She was a wonderful wife to Emmett Baldwin and although she never had children of her own, she had extremely close and loving relationships with her siblings, nieces and nephews.

The last weeks of Danzy's life her sister Livvie, who was 87 years old at the time, came from Indiana back to Tennessee and sat at her bedside without ever leaving.

The nursing staff cared for Livvie as well, making sure she even had a tray at every meal, so that Livvie could stay there so Danzy never had to be alone. This was a huge consolation to us in Indiana because there was no way anyone was prying Livvie from Danzy's side. The nurses were angels to take care of Livvie (my Granny) so she could stay at the side of her baby sister until the end.

The picture at top is of Livvie and Livvie's daughter (Danzy's sister and niece) at her grave in April 2009. The second picture is of Danzy and Livvie as young ladies and the bottom picture is Danzy and her husband Emmett.

Danzy was a kind and generous woman who always smiled. Her sister and the rest of the family misses her dearly.
