Mrs. RITA MARIE (LaFERRIERE) ADAMSKI was the daughter and one of 16 children born to Adam Joseph LaFerriere and Mrs. Mary Martha (Pepin) LaFerriere.

"A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Rita M. Adamski, 92, of Carthage, Texas, will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2015 at the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church with Father Jesudoss Thomas officiating. Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hawthorn Funeral Home. Mrs. Adamski died January 7, 2015 in Carthage, Texas. Mrs. Rita Marie LaFerriere Adamski was born July 13, 1922 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. She was one of sixteen children born to the marriage of Canadian immigrants, Adam Joseph LaFerriere and Martha Pepin LaFerriere. Rita was raised a devout Catholic, and she was schooled in New Jersey. She later married Edwin T. Adamski in January of 1943. She spent her career as a beauty operator. Rita and Edwin would leave New Jersey to Florida and later settled in Carthage, Texas, alongside her sister, Mrs. Anne MacLean, to be closer to their nephew, Paul. Rita and her sister, Anne, became known as the beloved "sisters" of the Carthage community. Rita dedicated her time, and she love to the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church where she helped in many capacities and played bingo and cards with her dear church friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edwin; and 14 siblings. Mrs. Adamski is survived by her brother, Ernest Joseph LaFerriere, of Clinton, Oklahoma; her devoted nephew, Paul Richards and wife, Joan, of Carthage; many nieces, nephews other relatives and a host of friends and neighbors. The family suggests memorials to the St. William of Vercelli Catholic Church or Heartsway Hospice."
