Margaret Grace Andrews, 83, was called home on February 1, 2023.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Iowa City. Visitation will be Monday, February 6, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Lensing Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City, where the rosary will be recited at 3:30 PM. Entombment will be at Memory Gardens with a luncheon to follow at the church.

Margaret was born February 27, 1939 and was given up for adoption to the Catholic Children's Home in Des Moines, lowa. She was adopted by Elmer and Arlene Kutcher of Oxford. She was lovingly raised on the farm alongside her adopted brother Jack Kutcher.

At a young age, Margaret married Clifford Deatsch and together they had 3 children. They later divorced. Then Margaret met and fell in love with Donald Andrews. They were joined in marriage on April 5, 1975. Don passed in March of 2017.

Margaret & Don were a great team. Both helping each other along the way including with their work. Margaret helped Don with his cleaning business and Don would make frosting and help transport cakes that Margaret decorated for all occasions including weddings. They enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Margaret worked many jobs during her lifetime, retiring from Hills Bank in Hills, lowa. She then worked part time as one of the sample ladies at the lowa City 1st Ave. Hy-Vee for a few years. If you knew Margaret, you knew that she loved to meet people. No matter where you would go with her, you would almost always run into someone that she knew.

Margaret volunteered for Iowa City Hospice and The University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics for several years. She was also a member of the lowa City American Legion Auxiliary and the County Johnson Irish for many years.

Margaret is survived by her three children Mischelle Linnell, Virginia Youngs and Mike Deatsch, her Son-in-law Varney Youngs, Bother-in-law Jeff Tampir, 6 Grandchildren and numerous Great and Great-Great Grandchildren, several cousins and nieces & nephews.

Margaret was preceded in death by: her parents, Elmer & Arlene Kutcher, husband, Donald Andrews, Don's parents, Harold and Velma Andrews, brother-in-law Dean Andrews, Sister-in-law, Cheryl Tampir, Son-in-law Jimmy Linnell, a Great Grandchild Kaleb and several beloved cousins.
