Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel E. and Sarah M. Cahill; his wife, Reba Shortt Cahill; daughter, Reba Anne "Bobbie" Cahill Averill; and several siblings.
He is survived by his son, Jeffrey D. Cahill and wife Debra of Wichita Falls, TX; two daughters, Amber Maloyed and husband Wesley of Saltville, and Rebekah Howell and husband Jeff of Blountville, TN; three grandchildren, Robert Cahill, Kala Cahill, and Christopher Cahill and wife Courtney; nine great-grandchildren, Bailey, David, Joseph, Kirsten, Jacob, Caden, Reba, Nora, and Calliope; and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to give a special thanks to Oakmont Gordon Park assisted living in Bristol, VA, Elite Hospice of Bristol, and Providence Companion Care of Abingdon VA, for all of their care.
A celebration of life service will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Henderson Funeral Home with Rev. David Mumpower officiating. There will be Military Rites rendered by the United States Army Honor Guard. The family will be receiving friends from 12 until 1p.m. prior to the service.
