Louise Witt, 84, was born Oct. 8, 1894, to Franz and Marie (Dressler) Hildebrand at Ellinwood, KS. Later the family moved to Stafford, KS where she attended the public school and the Calvary Baptist Church in her early teens.

Louise Hildebrand and William Henry Witt, of Bison, KS were married in Stafford on Dec. 16, 1914. They made their home near Bison where they farmed until retiring to Bison in 1946.

During her years in Bison she was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Ladies Missionary Society. She was a charter member of the Sunshine H.E.U. of Bison.

Survivors are: Son, Arthur, Claflin, KS; daughters, Mrs. Helen Zimmerman, Creston, BE, Mrs. Ruth Stude, Copeland KS, and Mrs. Ethel Tombaugh, Salina, KS; brother Ernest Hildebrand, Stafford, KS; sister Anna Lichte, Stafford, KS; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, June 18, 1958 and a granddaughter.

Funeral services were held Monday, May 14, at the First Baptist Church in Bison with Rev. Robert Cornwell, Bison, and Rev. Lawrence Hastings, Copeland. Burial will be in the La Crosse Cemetery.

Mrs. Witt lived at the Bethel Home in Montezuma, KS the last twenty months. She suffered a stroke on May 9, 1979, and passed away the following day (May 10, 1979) at Dodge City Regional Hospital.
