Heart Attack Proves Fatal
Graettinger – Elmer E. [Elzy] Hansel, 71, Graettinger, died at his home in Graettinger Wednesday about 9 p.m., after suffering a heart attack.
Mr. Hansel was born Nov. 1, 1899, in Clayton County, and grew up in that area.
He and Ola Marie Huntley were married Feb. 16, 1938, at Emmetsburg.
Mr. Hansel farmed in Emmet and Palo Alto counties, and moved to his present farm at Graettinger in 1950.
Survivors include his wife, Ola Marie; two sons, Howard, who lives at home; and Leonard Hansel, Welcome, Minn.; and six grandchildren.
Also surviving are six brothers, Ralph, Irvin, Adam, Emery, Lawrence and Albert; five sisters, Ethel, Josephine, Pearl, Eva and Jessie; and his mother, Mrs. Lillie Hansel.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Martin Funeral Home in Graettinger, with the Rev. R.O. Grote officiating. Friends may call at the Martin Funeral Home after 3 p.m. today. Pallbearers will be Stanley Reinders, Dan Miller, George McCarty, Kenneth Sorenson, Marvin Miller and Mike Lenners.
